I spent some time the last couple of days looking into the lights. The wiring on this car is pretty much unmolested with the exception of the rear lights. The right rear marker light wires were just hanging there and the wire color was wrong. There were missing bullet ends on a few of the red wires, some crimped wires and burned out bulbs. I got out the soldering iron and the shrink tube plus some wires from an old harness and went to work. Found out that the headlight switch was funky so I pulled the wires off and plugged in one from my donor car and that cleared up some of the confusion. I replaced the right rear marker with a donor part and did the same with the left rear light as the one on the GT was corroded. The one red wire in the harness that runs from the right side to the left was funky so I ran a donor wire on the outside of the harness and that finished off all of the non-working lights at the back.
Moved on to the front and worked through a few bad bulbs and wiring connections to get all of those working. Still have a bad high beam on the passenger side that needs attention Found an added wire on the green circuit fuse block that ran along the harness an into the dash area. A bare spot close to the frame didn’t look good so that got removed and pulled out of the dash. I’m guessing the radio won’t work now but it’s a cheap one that wasn’t going to get used anyway.
I plan on removing the relays that I added to the roadster and it should be an easy swap. It’s mounted to the right side rad support bracket and all color correct wires so it will plug right in once I remove it and add it to the GT.
