It’s been a case of a little work here and a little work there, as time allows. The engine is pretty much completely painted with 3 coats of the Rustoleum Stop Rust enamel in Burgundy, and 3 coats of Rustoleum clear enamel. We’ll see how that holds up.

I spent some time wire brushing the starter, alternator, and damper pulley and then masking, priming and painting with Gloss Black Rustoleum Rust Stop. Happy with the results. I may spray some clear on them next to keep the bare metal bits looking good.

Decided to go ahead and strip the front suspension bits that I salvaged from my wrecked roadster so that I could get them sandblasted. The plan is to get the whole works cleaned up and painted or powder-coated and reassembled with new Super Pro bushings. Still deciding as to how much I’ll reassemble before installing on the GT once I drop the old suspension out. It was a struggle getting a couple of the bushings off the pivot pins as the steel inserts were rusted/frozen. Torched the rubber off and managed to get one of the two frozen ones off. PB Blaster soaking on the remaining stuck one overnight so we’ll see if that is going to work.
