Rear Suspension Refresh

Up on the lift and ready to work

Last season I noticed a bit of rattling in my rear suspension. Checked and found the rear bushings and pads were very worn. With the help of my local MG club’s lift, put all new poly bushings in. Should be a lot smoother (and quieter) this season.

Added Hubcaps For Everyday Driving

Minor change but wanted to document when it occur

When I added my steel wheels (for vintage racing events) I never intended to add any hubcaps. I was thinking more of switching back and forth between them and my original Rostyles for everyday driving. For the sake of argument, I looked around for an inexpensive set of hubcaps for the steel wheels, and someone here on MGEXP got back to me with a set at a reasonable price. Vintage Racing/Rally Wheels

Love the bonnet open showing off the new dual carb

I attend and participate in a few vintage race/rally events each year, and have always admired the older Sprites and Midgets that attend. The old steel and wire wheels really make these racers look vintage. Decided last fall to try a set of old "steelies" on my car for these events. Went with matching the car color (white) instead of the original silver/grey and I'm thrilled with the final look. I actually won't mind when the wheels get a bit dirty - it will just add to the authenticity....

New Dual HS4 Carbs Installed

Final job Sounds as good as it looks

After a few weeks of work and re-work, the dual HS4s are on and running! I’m amazed at the sound difference thru my custom exhaust. Can’t wait to hit the road this season and see how she does on the longer trips. Getting all the other stuff moved and sorted was more work than the carbs themselves.
