Well it has been a while since I updated this journal in any way. I was concerned about the MPG the car was getting, usually under 20. I set about tuning and got the carbs by ear and borrowed a uni sync, set the valves and the points. I changed the points after a while as they had worn unevenly and set the timing. Betson Bolt

Thank goodness for MGE. Research revealed the Betson Bolt to me. So off I went and got a bolt nut and washer. With the help of Greg and his dexterity the bolt was put in place and tightened. With some araldite around the edge of the plug and the presure of the bolt squeezing it it was time for a test. Filled with water, start up went well. Warmed up and no sign of any leaks at all. Suspension Update

It seems that with an MG you turn one corner expecting to see a nice fast straight away and you find there is yet another bend ahead. I got all the suspension together not without a few little holdups. One being the V8 bushes on the bottom inner arms. The steel inner that is supposed to slide onto the wishbone pivot ends didn't. Replacement Of Lever Arms With Bilstein Shocks

My front shocks have been leaking for a while now. Research has lead me down the path of replacement of the shocks rather than reconditioning. Weighing up the cost of new lever arms over a telescopic shock kit I decided on the later and further opted for a system using bilsein shocks rather than the more commonly used spax system.
