My 2008 Solstice A/C does not work. It has been tested for leaks in the system, no leaks found, recharged with correct amount of freon, the A/C does work when selector knob is turned to Windshield defog, but does not work when selector knob is turned to A/C and A/C knob is pushed in and the light turns on. Is there a HVAC actuator that is not working?

I don't have any particular information pertaining to the Solstice, but I can tell you it's best to make sure of the following preliminary items prior to re-charging your system.
1) Check the low-pressure cutoff switch - making sure that it allows the compressor to run when bypassed
2) Same goes for the high-pressure cutoff switch .
3) Make certain you are not overcharging the system by adding to an already full charge - we have seen this more often since regular folks are trying to fix A/C without the use of an A/C Manifold Test set.
