Completely restored in late 80s and stored.. I bought the car about 4yrs ago and refreshed all systems. I drive it weekly on back roads and to local shows. Runs great .no rust anywhere ,fires right up
Brakes all cylinders ,master cyl and shoes. New speed bleeders added to cylinders
Tires new about 350 mi on them
New water pump, new SU fuel pump
Complete ignition, coil, wire, plugs, cap, points condenser all new.
Fuel tank acid cleaned,
Carbs cleaned, new gaskets, needles seats, adjusted
Battery new
Overflow tank added to rad
Oil pressure 40Lb idle 60 /65 running
Moss interior leather, Moss top and side curtains, tonneau, stayfast canvas all done earlier and in perfect cond. Tonneau was never on the car.
Paint great, minor road stuff
Oil and filter, coolant done
It was in an estate several yrs ago the engine was completely rebuilt .and about 6000 mi on rebuild I can't document
this but you are welcome to compression check the engine
Shop manual included..
Spare is a nylon tire for originality holds air fine but wouldn't drive it any distance car does not have a jack.
I am working on a another MG I have under construction ,can't keep them all.
The gauges all work ,tach and speedo a little erratic. Temp parks at 80 and works up from there, these could be cleaned and lubed but once they warm up they are good. Odometer stopped clock does not work.
It's a great little car asking 14,700 OBO. The work alone would cost more
This car will pass PA inspection. It has antique plates and does not require inspection but it will pass
Calls only 814-443-6490
Thanks

This looks like a fine ride - with the the right care.To a MOG guy, the $ seems about right - Would you have any hesitation about it being driven home - when that would be about a 4 hour drive - at expressway - toward Philly? And I just saw your request for phone calls!

Hi, this car runs great .I drive it locally ..Thats a long way for a vintage car..modern motorways and highway speeds with the gear ratios on these old girls no best thing.. However if you would buy the car I can deliver it to you based on what we would agree on as far as priceThanksDave

Am I reading too much into this conversation or is the car actually fragile for highway speeds and 4 hours of driving?

Comment by david panza
It's not that these cars are fragile they are tough little cars ..They have top speeds of 60 65 and that is because of the final drive ratio in the rear end.some people change to MGA rear ends and or ad 5 speed trans..for highway cruising.. This is not a good idea for originality.. these little guys like travelingaround 50 to 55 MPH

I understand and appreciate what your saying - but unlike the cars of the 30s and 40s - these are generally considered modern enough to handle modern roads. Yes, my also ancient MOGs can do it at 80+, but that too is by design. Most all the vintage outings are 3-4 hours or more - commonly some unavoidable turnpike one way or another.I absolutely agree with the keep it original. To me that is a great part of the experience of owning and using it.And part of that is the bonding (and all else, including the challenge and problems) of driving it to the new home! (With my wife in the chase car). And as is being expressed....capable to do so is a kinda realistic qualification....

Well, when you head out of the garage in an older British car it is a love of adventure.

I was a bit surprised to see this still available!Clearly the seller is as true to find as this car - both hard to find.I traded rides in my 58 Morgan +4 with his 57 TD. Yes - exactly as you said - at their best they aren't just "old" cars - so you experience imperfection, driving a head of yourself because brakes aren't as they are now...etc. And - compared to my MOG or any number of TR6 etc I have had) - while looking like a real "sports car"...they are not racers. And could be very frustrating for anything other than a local ride. It moves out OK...but about when your ready to settle in...its topped out. As he notes...this is what they are...if they have been changed things to change this - well then you ain't getting a TD...or a classic.
