“Duckie Too”
From what the PO told me it has had 3 owners prior to me.
It came to me in early December of 2010 in very good condition. New paint, apparently in the correct Vermillion color. New brake master cylinder, new gas tank, and about 47,000 original miles.
Interior is original and in good shape, but for some tired foam in the seats.
Not sure what to do next, other than deal with some rust spots on the floor boards. Top may have a year left in it. Leather interior is in its future, for sure. Will also get the gas struts for bonnet and boot to keep klutzes from bending them up.
Drives very nicely, shifts very smoothly. All in all a pleasure in my first few weeks of ownership. This one will not be a garage queen, but it won't be a daily workhorse, either. It will see probably a few hundred miles a month as a pleasure driver on back roads - no interstate trips for my B!
Here's looking forward to many good years and good miles with my Duckie Too! BTW, the name comes from the car I had in college - a Primrose Yellow 1967 MGB that was a real growler! That was the original Duckie - so named by my girlfriends.
Duckie Too is my time machine back to those days, albeit with the much tamer performance of the late 70's single carb pollution controlled engine. The tamer performance is just fine with me, I'm not looking to leave TR -6's in my dust like we used to with Duckie.
