This time it came out easier because it was rebuilt and only used for a few months. Still a pain. Nice to have a donor with lots of new bits to use on the GT resurrection. Got the shelf on the GT cleaned up with a rotary wire brush and ready for some rust converter so I can transplant the pedal box and start on the brake and clutch hydraulics.
Cleaned up and painted the hubs so they’ll be ready even though they won’t be seen. Just seems like the right thing to do as long as they are off the car. Brake drums will get the same treatment after I get some more paint. Hopefully this weekend will see me putting all of the rear brake components back on the car and I can move on to the front brakes and hydraulics. I need to get the front up on jack stands and see about getting the old tires off so I can do something with the wheels. I’m thinking about gloss black powder coat so maybe I’ll spray the spare with gloss paint and see how it looks before I commit.
