Over the last couple of days, I was able to spot-prime the areas that were either bare metal or about to be due to exposed primer. I’m using a product called Zero Rust after talking with someone at the paint supply house. It flows nicely with a good brush which makes it easy for me to get it where it’s needed. Followed up with some 400 grit to smooth and feather the edges out. With my wife out of town for a few days, it was a good time to lay down the first color coat. I’m using a 1K FillClean Spray Max aerosol paint that was filled with a Limco single stage 1K Super Acrylic. They took a reading off of the front valence and a pint left me with 4 cans and a little left for brush touch up. I was a little concerned it was a little too orange but it’s probably because the engine bay was faded and dull so I’ll reserve judgment until it’s cleared and finished and all of the masking comes off.
