This will make a great story at your next car show! If you enjoy this sort of musing, consider a 100 year old car next, twice the mysteries! Good luck.

Matt, thanks for posting this, and more power to your elbow! (as the Brits say). You are bringing this little car back from the brink and saving it for another day, I hope many happy days. Top marks for wanting your daughter to enjoy it one day, too. I am an Electrical engineer with a '71 MG Midget, so if there's any questions you might have on the electrical system I'll try to answer them. More useful to know is that Norm Kerr, who has a '74, has pretty much done it all and is on this board, and has always helped me with his advice.

Thanks Steve! This is definitely the swampy part of the forest -- trying to avoid getting stuck in the mud!

I'm in the exact same spot. Take a day or two off, clean the garage and make a to do list and it will get you fired up for the next step.

Hi Matt many years ago I spent 9 years restoring a Mk3 Zodiac. My advice is finish the body first I mean paint it as well then you dont have to waste time masking up.next do the suspension and put the diff in that way you will be able to move it if needed. next do the engine and gear box then the wiring and the dash do all the trim last and dont panick about the lenghth of time it all takes a good job takes time and alot of the enjoyment is in the rebuild journey good luck Mike
