or to vote for this car or leave a comment

Purchased April 4, 1987 in Houston, TX with 118,464 miles. Rebuilt engine, transmission and brakes at 119,183 miles. Engine was in decent condition and new pistons were not needed. Honed cylinders and replaced rings, turned crank and installed all new bearings. Head was cracked and replaced w/ newer unit after 3-angle valve job w/hardened seats and silicon bronze guides. Rebuilt transmission including new synchros and seals, painted dash with Moss wrinkle black paint. Minor amount of rust fixed: floors replaced, lower front fenders and rockers behind fenders cut out and new metal welded in. Around 1995, restored interior - replaced cheap vinyl seat covers with new red leather w/black piping, door panels, and black carpet.
Hope to repaint soon - probably same red color, but may go back to original iris blue, which would require changing interior back to navy blue with light blue piping. It's a very popular car with high school (and now college age) son and his friends - not many manual transmission drivers his age anymore.

I sincerely hope your car goes back to Iris Blue Clay when you repaint it. It's a beautiful colour for an early MGB.It's not as bad in the US as in Australia, but here in Australia the great majority of MGB's that were originally (for us) Sky Blue are now red. The same applies to our MGB's that were originally (Katoomba) Grey, (Mambo) Black, and to a lesser extent (Nurburg) White. As a result, about 70% of Australian MGB's are red, and a significant proportion of the remainder are BRG. It makes for a very repetitious and tedious landscape.
