My 5 year old grandson was coming over in the afternoon so my time was limited but I did manage to get a couple things done. Pulled the HS4’s and intake off but when it came time to drop the exhaust down pipe off the cast exhaust manifold, I only managed to get two of the nuts off, snapped three and the last one was rounded off. Fortunately, I have another manifold from my wrecked ‘70 waiting in the wings and the exhaust system is getting replaced by a SS Bell system so I got a chance to use my new cordless reciprocating saw and went to town on the old exhaust. Like a hot knife through butter and then it was on to disconnecting the prop shaft. Pulled the drain on the oil pan and then called it for the day. My little buddy was bringing his golf clubs over so Grampa got to spend a little time at the practice range and then pick up a chocolate shake on the way home. Not that he needs any sugar…
Hopefully I can spend a little more time on the car tomorrow and get everything disconnected and drained so ai can pull the engine and gearbox this weekend. Then the real work begins…
