Had some time today and decided to get the old radiator and water pump off. The radiator my brakes salvageable but not high on the priority list. Drained all the coolant by cutting the old hoses and then yanked the water pump off. It’s definitely not salvageable so it goes on the list. Drained the coolant from the wreck and pulled the barely used radiator and hoses to go in the GT whenever I get the new pump.
Moved on to the rear brakes to see what is needed there besides the obvious cylinder replacements. Pretty much everything from the looks of it. All springs, retainers, shoes, hoses so aall of that goes on the list too.
Got the backing plates wire brushed and washed down with Brak-Kleen.
Drums will need to be turned a bit just to knock out some light grooving and surface rust.
I need to look into the bearings while I’m digging into things but that can wait. Taking a week off to spend some time on the coast with the travel trailer and enjoy some clean coast Fall air and colors. Lots to sort through but looking forward to it. Cleaned up the garage and my tools so I’ll be ready to get after it when I return.
