The good news is that I had a little time to work on the passenger side front brake while the youngest granddaughter was napping and her older brother and sister were occupied with their grandma and a Disney movie.
Got the hub and rotor assembly off and then got them separated. I decided to go ahead and install the new rotor on the hub and then proceed with some wire brush work on the rest of the suspension.
Well, that’s the bad news. The rotor had a different bolt pattern. These rotors were purchased brand new from a forum member several months ago and were going to be installed on the ‘70 until the wreck happened. The other one was installed on the GT driver side yesterday so I reached out to the guy from whom I bought them to see if he had sent the wrong one by mistake. Super nice guy who was as surprised as I and after a couple emails, we agreed to a return of half the total that was paid.
He couldn’t remember where he purchased them but someone threw the wrong one in the box. So, I didn’t get far. I did manage to clean up the backplate and get it painted and also got most of the dirt and grime around the axle, spring pan, etc. removed. Ordered a new rotor and some SuperPro bushings from BPNW which will be here tomorrow so I can continue on. What to do with one Triumph rotor? Might do as the guy that I bought it from suggested. Make a clock. But that will have to wait.
