It’s only been a few days since the accident and I looked out over the crumpled aluminum bonnet as I eased it into the garage but it’s frustrating to know the next time I drive it to a repair shop it will be some time before it sees the road again.

Hagerty has been great so far and it makes me glad that I went with them this Spring when it was time to put it back on the road. Gave a recorded question and answer session over the phone today as part of the claim procedure. Next up is to supply photos of the car when we return from a short camping trip. I feel good knowing that the shop that I have in mind is one of three on the list of shops in a 100 mile radius that are part of the ERN (Expert Repair Network). Once they have the photos, their adjuster will assess the damage and make an initial estimate subject to any other developments as the process moves along. At this point, it’s a matter of wait and see.

In the meantime, there is an OD transmission that I’ll be working on as the parts are trickling in. The other work that was planned will have to wait. I guess I could start painting the trim on the house. Sigh.
