Having to go old school with wire brushes, brake cleaner, etc. makes for time consuming parts clean up. Spent what seemed like an eternity cleaning up the rear brake back plates to the point where I could prime and paint them. A parts washer would be a nice thing to have as well but space limitations make these wishes just a pipe dream for now.

While the back plates are hanging out to dry, I got the fan belt pulley, fan, alternator and belt back on and then dropped the radiator in and connected all the hoses. Filled with water, stopped a couple small leaks due to clamps not being quite tight enough and I think I’m at a point where I can hopefully run the engine longer than the initial start up after the long hibernation. Might give the carbs a once over before trying to run it and the rear muffler needs to get removed as it looks like Swiss cheese. Oh, and the fuel tank sending unit needs to go in after hooking it up and checking it first.

Waiting on a brake adjuster that is due in before I start putting the new bits back on. Probably better to wait to let the paint cure a bit longer.
Might venture to remove the pedal box on the donor if I get motivated to take that on. PITA...
