Trying to get something done each day so today’s job was to break out the Pieces of Eight bonnet strut kit that I ordered from Rick awhile back.
I’m getting ready to remove the bonnet for prepping and painting on the underside so I thought I would go ahead and install it first. Now that that’s done, I can remove the brackets until after I get it all painted. I’ll get the bonnet liners that I picked up from the BST forum installed as well. Still brand new in the bag that were purchased from Martin McGregor and set aside for a number of years and were held as spares until offering them up. As can be seen in the before picture, they are much needed and will help with sound as well as aesthetically. Very happy with the kit. I’ve got a slight kink in the bonnet frame by the driver side hinge that was there when I acquired the car last year. I’ll see if I can massage that back into a better shape once it’s off the car. Getting ready for a recreation break so car work will just have to wait for a bit. Time to order some parts for when I return and then I can finish up the heater box restoration and get that back in while the bulkhead is accessible.
