Grandkids here for the day so car work was limited but I got a little done.
I got the heater core pressure tested and it’s in good shape. I used a bicycle inner tube that I cut off on both sides of the valve and clamped it to the inlet and outlet pipes. Pumped some air in and submerged in a bucket and it’s good to go. Straightened some fins up and then put the foam back on and fitted it back in the heater box. All of the clips were grungy so after a soak in some paint stripper and a quick rinse, I shined them up with some 400 grit. I think a light coat of wax should keep them from rusting. I need to order new stickers and the gasket kit before it’s ready to install.
Dug the horns out and tested them with a battery charger. I plan on stripping those back to bare metal and giving them some fresh paint but darkness fell before I got very far. A little each day if I can…
